- Select the Menu Button.
- Select Settings.
- Select Your Lock on the Settings page.
- Select Factory Reset.
- Select Reset to confirm that you would like to proceed with the factory reset.
Factory reset removes everything from your August Smart Lock. In order to use it again, you will need to re-setup the device.

- Select the Settings Gear above the lock circle.
- Select Factory Reset.
- Select Reset Lock.
The August Smart Lock is a security product, so there are some extra security checks involved in factory resetting and starting to use the product.
- On your computer, visit http://support.august.com/customer/portal/emails/new.
- Write a message indicating your recent acquisition of the Smart Lock from a previous owner. Be sure to include:
- Smart Lock Serial Number (on the back of the device).
- Valid proof of purchase (if possible).
The August support team will contact the original owner, then perform the factory reset for you.
