Basic Setup for Your GE C-Life Light

The C-Life Bulbs by GE are smart bulbs for everyday life. These bulbs are specifically made to be fully controllable with the app and make life more comfortable. Dim or brighten instantly and you can group/control multiple bulbs.

From the C by GE app you can control light bulbs, set scenes, create custom light schedules, and add voice controls to the compatible bulbs in your home. First, you will need to verify that your mobile device's Bluetooth is turned on.

This guide will cover:

• Installing your C-Life bulb
• Downloading and installing the C by GE App
• Creating a C by GE account
• Connecting your lights
• And joining your lights into a group

You should not install these bulbs into fixtures with dimmer switches. This will cause the bulb to work poorly.

To install your bulb, simply screw it into the fixture as you normally would any bulb.

From the C by GE app you can control light bulbs, set scenes, create custom light schedules, and add voice controls to the compatible bulbs in your home. First, you will need to verify that your mobile device's Bluetooth is turned on.

1. Swipe down on your screen (or up, if using a tablet) to access the menu.
2. Hold down on the Bluetooth icon to bring up Bluetooth options.
   
3. Ensure the Bluetooth switch is set to ON.
   

1. Open Play Store.
   
   
   
2. Type "C by GE" in the search bar.
   
   
   
3. Select C by GE in the search results.
4. Click Install to start downloading the app.
   
   
   
5. Click Open to proceed to the setup.

1. Tap Log In.
   
   
   
2. Tap Create Account.
   
   
   
3. Fill in the information and tap Create Account.
   
   
   
4. Tap OK.
   
   
   
5. Type your email and password and tap Log In.
   
   
   
6. Navigate to the email you used to create your account.
   
   
   
7. In an email from CbyGETeam, click on the activation link.
   
   
   
8. Your account has been created and is now activated.
   

1. Open the C by GE app.
   
   
   
2. Tap Add a bulb.
   
   
   
3. Tap the type of bulb you would like to add.
   
   
   
4. The app will search for your bulb(s). When all bulbs have been found, tap Next.
   
   
   
5. Start using your bulbs or tap Name Your Bulbs to help identify which bulbs are which.
   
   
   
6. Tap Name Bulb.
   
   
   
7. Type an identifying name for your bulb and then tap Save.
   
   
   
8. Tap on a bulb to see its settings.
   
   
   
9. Move the slider to adjust the brightness of the bulb.
   

1. Tap Create new group.
   
   
   
2. Tap the bulbs you would like in the group. Each bulb should have a check beside it.
   
   
   
3. Type in a group name that identifies the group by area like "Living Room" or "Bedroom."
   
   
   
4. Tap Next.
   
   
   
5. You can now control individual bulbs or the entire room.
   
   
   

1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
   
2. Then tap Bluetooth.
   
3. Make sure Bluetooth is set to On.
   

1. From the main screen, open the App Store.
   
   
   
2. At the bottom of the screen, tap on Search.
   
   
   
3. Type C by GE in the search bar.
   
   
   
4. Tap Search to start the search.
   
   
   
5. Tap GET.
   
   
   
6. Verify the download with your touch ID or pass code.
   
   
   
7. The app will begin downloading.
   
   
   
8. Once the app has downloaded, tap OPEN.
