1. Introduction: Basic setup for your Ring Home Automation device
Congratulations on your purchase of the Ring Video Doorbell! This guide will walk you through the initial setup and configuration of your new doorbell.
Along with the items in the Ring Video Doorbell package, you will need:
Your Smartphone
Your Wifi Network Name & Password
Do not mount your Ring Doorbell outside quite yet; we'll need to make sure it's charged and setup first.
2. Ring: Charge Doorbell
Using the included USB cable, connect your Ring doorbell to either a USB wall charger, or your computer.
The ring around the front button will glow and fill up slowly.
When the light on the front is a complete blue circle, your Ring doorbell is fully charged.
3. Mobile: Android or iOS
For the next steps, we need to determine what type of mobile device you have.
4. Ring: Install Android App
Launch the Play Store on your smartphone.
Search for "Ring" using the search box located at the top.
Touch the magnifying glass on the on-screen keyboard to search.
On the Ring App install page, tap INSTALL.
Review the install prompt that pops up. Once done, touch ACCEPT.
Wait for the download to finish. Once done, touch OPEN.

Your Smartphone should automatically connect to the Ring's wifi network. If it does not:
Swipe down from the top, then tap and hold Wifi.
Choose the network name that starts with "Ring-" and has numbers after it.
Return to the Ring app.
Select your Wifi network.
Type in your Wifi password.

The light on your doorbell will change to a blue pattern, it will also be indicated in the app that it's now connected.
8. Ring App: Test Doorbell
While still near your router, push the button on your doorbell.
You should receive an alert on your mobile device showing you that someone is at your door.
If you're in the app, you should see a live video feed open instantly.
Close the video feed.
Go to where your doorbell will be installed (for example, your front door).
Push the button on your doorbell.
Again, you should receive an alert or see a live video feed open right away on your mobile device.
If the video feed is not as good as you want, you can try moving your router closer to the doorbell's installation location, or purchase a Ring Chime Pro to extend your network further.
9. Ring: Mount Doorbell
This guide will focus on installation on battery power where no doorbell was present before.
If you intend to replace your existing doorbell with your Ring doorbell, please refer to the user manual included with your Ring Doorbell for further instructions instead.
Take everything that came in your Ring doorbell box to where you want to mount your doorbell. You will need a power drill, too, if you intend to install the device on stucco, brick, or concrete.
Snap the small orange level onto the mounting bracket.
Hold the mounting bracket up where you want to mount your doorbell.
Make sure the bracket is level by tilting and turning it till the little bubble is in the center of the level.
Using a pencil or marker, make dots on the surface through the 4 corner holes of the bracket.
If you're installing on stucco, brick, or concrete:
Using your power drill and the included drill bit, drill into the surface at the 4 marked spots.
Install the included anchors in each hole.
If you're installing on wood or siding:
You can just screw directly into your wall, using the included Phillips head side of the Ring screwdriver, or a Phillips head screw on a power drill.
Drive the screws though the mounting bracket till it is flush with your wall.
If your wall is uneven, do not attach the bracket so tightly that it bends.
Remove the level by snapping it off.
Make sure the 2 security screws at the bottom of your Ring doorbell are loose.
Line up the holes in the back of your Ring doorbell with the slots on the bracket.
Push firmly toward the wall, then down, until you feel a click.
Using the star-shaped end of your Ring screwdriver, tighten the 2 security screws at the bottom of your Ring doorbell.
Do not lose your Ring screwdriver; you will need that special security screwdriver to remove your doorbell for charging.
