1. Introduction: Wemo Light Switch: Basic Setup

The Wemo Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch provides a great way to control your home's lights when you're away from home or just relaxing on the couch.

Turn on your home's lights as you return from a night out, off as you head to bed, or simply give your house that lived-in look while away on vacation.

This guide will walk you through setting up the software and the general use of the switch itself.

2. Mobile: Android or iOS

For the next steps, we need to determine what type of mobile device you have.

3. Wemo: Install Android App

1. Launch the Play Store on your smartphone.

1. Type in WeMo, then select WeMo from the list.

4. Wemo: Android: Connect to Wemo Wi-Fi

In order to setup your Wemo Light Switch, you must first connect to the special network provided by the switch for setup.

1. In the list of Wi-Fi networks, you should see one that starts with "WeMo", then a product type, and a number. It will not be locked with a password. Select the WeMo network.

The network password for your normal home Wi-Fi connection has not been forgotten. Once setup, your phone will automatically reconnect to the proper network.

5. Wemo: App Setup

1. Open the WeMo app.

1. Open the App Store.

7. Wemo: iOS: Connect to Wemo Wi-Fi

1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
   

1. Select Wi-Fi.
   

1. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on, then select the WeMo Wi-Fi network from the list.
   

The network password for your normal home Wi-Fi connection has not been forgotten. Once setup, your phone will automatically reconnect to the proper network.
