This guide will assist you with repair issues and their potential fixes for your Marantz NR1608 companion app.

This guide will guide you through the following steps:

  • Power Cycle your devices
  • Verify your devices are on the same network
  • Reinstall Marantz 2016 AVR Remote app

1 Power Cycle Devices

Most of the time, restarting will fix common problems.

  1. Unplug your modem, router, and Marantz NR 1608 receiver. Do not disconnect any Ethernet cables, just unplug the power cords from the wall.

  2. Plug in your modem and router first, and wait for it to establish a connection.
  3. Plug in the TV and turn it on.

This guide will guide you through the following steps:

  1. Unplug your modem, router, and Marantz NR 1608 receiver. Do not disconnect any Ethernet cables, just unplug the power cords from the wall.

  2. Plug in your modem and router first, and wait for it to establish a connection.
  3. Plug in the TV and turn it on.
Your mobile device and your receiver must be on the same Wi-Fi network in order to communicate with one another. The following steps will help you ensure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network your receiver is. If your receiver is using ethernet, be sure the Wi-Fi network you are connecting to is the one being broadcast from the router your receiver is physically connected to.

Make sure your devices are not connected to a guest network. These types of networks typically prevent your devices from communicating with one another.

Check your Android device

  1. Swipe down on phone to access quick settings.

  2. Swipe down on phone again to get the extended view. Your connected network will show under the Wi-Fi symbol.

  1. Push Setup on the remote.

  2. Select Network.

  3. Select Wi-Fi Setup.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi Network name.
  5. Enter your password and select OK.
Once you have completed the previous steps, we will check to see if your issue has been resolved.
The next steps will guide you through reinstalling the app you are having issues with. We'll start by uninstalling the app, and then we'll reinstall it from the Google Play store.
  1. Locate the Marantz AVR Remote icon.

  2. Tap and drag the app icon to uninstall located at the top of the screen. When the icon turns red, let off of it.

  3. Tap on OK to confirm the removal.

  1. Open the Play Store app.

  2. Tap on the search bar at the top.

  3. Type in Marantz 2016 AVR Remote then tap Marantz 2016 AVR Remote from the list.

  4. Tap on Install.

  5. This app requires special permissions, listed here. Tap on Accept.

  6. Tap on Open to open the app.

Once you have completed the previous steps, we will check to see if your issue has been resolved.
  1. If you are using a wired connection for your network devices, connect the Ethernet wires from each to your switch, and to your home router.

    This product does not include an Ethernet cable. If you don't have a spare laying around, you will need to purchase one.

  2. Push Setup on the remote.

  4. Select Wired (Ethernet).

  1. Tap on the Settings icon from your home screen.

  3. Select Wi-Fi Setup.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi Network name.
  5. Enter your password and select OK.
Once you have completed the previous steps, we will check to see if your issue has been resolved.
The next steps will guide you through reinstalling the app you are having issues with. We'll start by uninstalling the app and then reinstall it from the Apple App Store.
  1. Locate the Marantz AVR Remote app icon on your home screen.

  2. Tap and hold on the app icon until it starts shaking
  3. Tap the x in the top left of the app icon.

  4. Tap on Delete.

  1. From the main screen, open the App Store.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap on Search.

  3. Type Marantz AVR Remote on the search bar at the top.

  4. Tap Search to start the search.

  6. Tap the Install button to install the app..

  7. Tap OPEN once the app is installed.
