Fix .NET 3.5 Requirement Windows Setup on Chromecast

1. Introduction

Setting up or using your Chromecast from Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 is easy, but does require enabling a few extra features of Windows.

This guide will walk you through installing the no cost .NET 3.5 library on Windows 7 or Windows 8.

2. Install .NET 3.5.x

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.

  1. In the top-left corner, select Turn Windows features on or off.

  1. Place a dot next to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, then select OK.

3. Install .NET 3.5.x

  1. Using your right mouse button, Right Click on the Start Menu, then select Control Panel.

  1. In the top-left corner, select Turn Windows features on or off.

  1. When prompted to download the updates, select Download files from Windows Update.
