How to Add a C by GE Smart Light to Alexa

1. Introduction

C by GE smart light bulbs can be linked with the Amazon Alexa virtual assistant to be able to control them with only your voice. This guide will help you with that process.

C by GE smart bulbs need to be paired with either a C by GE smart bridge, a smart switch, a smart plug or Sol lamp to work with Amazon Alexa.

Before You Begin:

Your light bulb must be already set up

The Alexa app must be already installed

2. Link C by GE Smart Light with Amazon Alexa

Depending on the Alexa app version you have, the app icons and layout may look different, but the device linking process is the same.

1. Launch the Alexa app on your phone or tablet.
   

1. Open the Menu from the top left corner.

2. Then select Skills & Games.
   

1. Type in "cbyge" towards the Search box in the top right.
   

1. Tap the found C by GE Alexa skill.
   

1. After that tap Enable.
   

1. Type in your C by GE account login information and tap Sign In.
   

1. Once you linked your C by GE account with Alexa, tap Done in the top left.
   

1. Then tap Discover Devices.
   

1. Wait for the Alexa app to discover your C by GE light bulbs.
   

1. Your light bulbs will then be added to the Alexa app.
   

1. From this point on you can organize the newly added light bulbs the way you prefer and control them using your voice.
