How to Add a New Sonos to an Existing System

1. Introduction

Adding a single Sonos device to your home is only the starting point for creating a multi-room audio experience. Up to 32 total devices can be added to a Sonos audio system. Each one can be wirelessly controlled via the Sonos app and has access to the music libraries located on your mobile devices and home computers, as well as several streaming audio services. This guide will go over how to add a new Sonos device to an existing Sonos audio system in your home.

Tools You'll Need:

  • A paperclip
  • iPhone charging cable
  • Access to a computer with iTunes installed
  • Any other non-consumable tools needed
  • Comment out tools section if no tools are necessary

2. Add a New Device to an Existing System

  1. Place your Sonos device in the location you intend to use it in, then connect it to power.
  2. Once the light on the product begins flashing green, it is ready to be added to your existing Sonos system.
