Your existing smart hub system must support Zigbee devices.

Due to the large number of different Zigbee control systems available, it will not be possible to give exact, step-by-step instructions. Rather, this guide will give you a general overview of what to look for to successfully add your Hue device to your existing hub.

Hue devices act just like any other Zigbee device you may already be using with your system.

2. Add Philips Hue Sensor

To complete the following steps, you will need both your control outlet and Zigbee hub handy.

With the Hue Sensor

  1. Remove the plastic tab at the bottom of your Hue switch. The light in the front of the device will flash amber.

If the device was in-use with another system, push and hold the Reset switch for 10 seconds.

With the Zigbee Hub

  1. Open the control program or app associated with your smart hub system.

  1. Using your hub's software select navigate to and select add a new device.

  2. You may need to select a category to find your sensor.
  3. Select to add a sensor.

  2. With the Hue device powered and the light flashing on the front, your smart hub should locate the Hue device.
  3. Add your new device to any scene or room your system uses to categorize your home.
