How to Add Vivitar Lights to Alexa

1. Introduction

This guide will teach you how to connect your Vivitar smart lights to your Amazon Alexa. Once your lights are connected to Alexa, you will be able to control your lights using your voice.

Before You Begin:

Your smart lights must already be set up

You must have the Amazon Alexa App installed

2. Add Vivitar Smart Lights and Outlets Skill

1. Open the Alexa app on your mobile device.
   

1. Tap the Menu icon and then select Skills & Games.
   

1. Search for Vivitar Smart Lights and Outlets.
   

1. Tap Enable To Use.
   

1. Enter your Vivitar account credentials and tap Link Now.

3. Add Vivitar Smart Lights

Now we are going to add your Vivitar lights to Alexa. Once you have added your lights to Alexa, you will be able to control them using your Voice. There are three ways to add your lights to Alexa:

Using Voice Commands

1. Activate Alexa (usually, you can say "Hey Alexa").
2. Say "Discover My Devices".
3. Alexa will search for your Vivitar lights.

Using The Smartphone App

1. Open the Alexa app on your mobile device.
   

1. Select Devices.
   

1. Select Add.
   

1. Select Add Device.
2. Select Light.
   

1. Select Other.
2. Tap Discover Devices.
   

1. Your Vivitar lights will now be added to Alexa.

Using Your Computer

This option only works if you already have an Alexa speaker setup with your Amazon account.

1. Open your preferred web browser.
   

1. In the address bar, type https://alexa.amazon.com, and press enter or return.
   

1. Enter your Amazon account Email and Password, then select Sign In.
   

1. Select Smart Home.
   

1. Click Devices.
   

1. Click Discover.
   

1. Alexa will search for your devices.
   

1. Your Vivitar lights will now be added to Alexa.

Controlling Your Lights

Once your device is linked, you can now use your voice to perform the following tasks:

• Turn a light on or off
• Change the color of a light
• Change the brightness

Here are some example phrases you can use to control your lights:

• Hey Alexa, turn on the living room lights
• Hey Alexa, set the living room lights to orange
• Hey Alexa, set the living room lights to 75%
