Introduction
Calibrating your drone's compass on a regular basis can cause more harm than good to its operation. Only perform the calibration if:
- You're flying at a location farther than six miles away from the last flight location.
- The drone hasn't been flown for more than one month.
- The DJI GO 4 app persistently shows compass interference warnings after changing location.
Before You Begin:
You must have the app installed on your phone or tablet.
The drone should be connected to your phone or tablet.
1 Calibrate Your DJI Drone's Compass
- Launch the DJI GO 4 app.
- Go to the menu in the top right corner.
- Then go to the drone tab on the top left.
- Go to Advanced Settings at the bottom.
- Then go to Sensor State.
- Select Compass in the top middle.
- And tap Calibrate Compass.
- Rotate the drone as indicated in the app. The app will wait for you to complete each rotation correctly.
Only calibrate your drone's compass in a wide open location and make sure no magnets or metal objects are within 5 feet of your drone.
- Your drone is now calibrated and safe to be flown.
