Introduction
- Calibrate your drone's accelerometer and compass to eliminate wobbling and other strange flying behaviors.
- Have your Yuneec Typhoon 4K already unboxed.

1 Accelerometer Calibration
To Calibrate the Accelerometer
Always turn the remote control on and allow it to boot up before turning your drone on and always turn your drone off before turning off the remote control.
- Power on your remote control and allow it to fully boot up.
- Power on your drone afterwards by switching the on button on the bottom of the drone.
- On your remote control tap the settings wheel.
- Tap OK.
- Tap Calibration.
- Select Accelerometer.
- Your drone's lights will flash several times. When finished, your drone will reboot.
2 Compass Calibration
To Calibrate the Compass
Always turn the remote control on and allow it to boot up before turning your drone on and always turn your drone off before turning off the remote control.
Do not calibrate the compass inside parking structures, near buildings or surfaces with metal in them (like roads parking lots with rebar). Only calibrate the compass in open areas or fields far away from power lines and other metallic or concrete surfaces or structures.
- Power on your remote control and allow it to fully boot up.
- Power on your drone afterwards by switching the on button on the bottom of the drone. Make sure your aircraft's nose is pointing north.
- On your remote control tap the settings wheel.
- Tap OK.
- Tap Calibration.
- Tap Compass.
- Your drone will beep and the screen on your remote will read Mag Cali.
- Pick up your aircraft. Hold it flat, with the nose pointing north.
The next steps must be completed in less than 30 seconds in order to successfully complete compass calibration.
- Spin your drone gently forward one revolution until you're holding it flat again.
- Turn your drone to the left 45 degrees. Repeat the revolution you did before.
- Again, turn your drone 45 degrees to the left and repeat the revolution.
- Again, turn your drone 45 degrees to the left and repeat the revolution.
- Place your aircraft down. The main LED will flash red and green rapidly while it calibrates.
- Once done, the drone will reboot.
