The brightness of your ecobee Smart Thermostat's display can easily be adjusted. There are separate settings for screen brightness when the screen is active, and while on standby. The screen can also be configured to dim completely when your thermostat enters the 'Sleep' activity period.
Adjust Screen Brightness
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat uses different 'Comfort settings' that specify what temperatures to maintain while you are Home, Away, or Sleeping. It also uses the 'Schedule' you set as well as its Room sensors to determine which Comfort setting it should be using at any given time. Despite having all of these intelligent methods of managing the temperature in your home, you can still opt to manually adjust the temperature on your own. However, because your smart thermostat wants to continue intelligently managing the temperature, there are options that control how long your thermostat will 'hold' any manual changes that are made. These 'Hold Action' duration options determine how long any manual changes made to your thermostat will last.
Adjust Hold Action Time
With Access Control you can prevent others from changing the thermostat's settings with a four-digit security code.
Configure Access Control
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat uses different 'Comfort settings' that specify what temperatures to maintain while you are Home, Away, or Sleeping. They work in tandem with the 'Schedule' that you've defined to help it determine which Comfort setting it should be using at any given time throughout the day.
Configure Schedules and Comfort Settings
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat's date and time settings were automatically configured when your thermostat was installed and set up for the first time. During the initial registration process, you will be asked to select the country or region in which you reside. This information allows your Smart Thermostat to use its internet connection to determine the date and time settings for the particular country or region you've selected. For this reason, there are no manual date and time adjustments needed or offered on your ecobee Smart Thermostat.
Configure Date and Time
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat can display temperature readings in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. This setting can be adjusted via the thermostat itself, or your ecobee account online.
