Along the bottom of the ASUS RP-AC55 are a series of status lights to indicate what the unit is doing and the status.
Power
Indicates the power is on or off.
Existing Network
Indicates if the extender is connected to your router.
Move Closer
Indicates you need to move the range extender closer to your router, so it gets a better signal.
Move Away
Indicates that you need to move the range extender farther away from your router, to avoid an overlap of signal that could cause problems.
Both Distance Lights Off
When both distance lights are out, your Range Extender is a proper distance away from your router. The Range Extender can hear your router fine, and it's transmitting properly.
The Asus Extender app can provide status of your Asus RP-AC55 directly on the first screen, once you open it.
Internet Status
Internet status will show if your router is Connected or Disconnected from the Internet.
Router
Router will show if your router is responding, and if it supports the feature, the model of your router.
Extenders
Extenders shows how many extenders were found on your home network, so you can easily tell if one is offline, if you use multiple extenders.
Extender Model and IP
The first line shows model of your extender, as well as the internal IP address it's using on your home network.
SSID
Shows the Network Name your extender is broadcasting that Wi-Fi devices will use to connect.
Sign in to device
Allows you to re-setup or change the setup the extender.
