Like all modern video game consoles, including your Nintendo Switch, you can connect to the internet in order to play with friends, download and purchase new games, and enjoy sharing your experience with others online. Checking your Nintendo Switch's connection to the internet is quick and easy to do.
Out of the box, your Nintendo Switch can only connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. An additional USB accessory can be purchased to allow the Switch to make use of a hardwired Ethernet connection.
You can see whether or not you are connected to a network by following these steps.
If the connection failed:
Navigate to https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/network/en_na/network_status.jsp to check the status of Nintendo's online services.
Clicking this button will open a new guide that will provide you with steps to resolve your issue.
