How to Connect a Nest Connect to the Internet

1. Introduction

Nest Connect extends your home network for your Nest devices. It will make sure motion sensors, alarms, cameras, and locks are connected and operational, even for larger homes.

This guide will walk you through adding your Connect to your Nest account.

2. Add to Account

  1. Open the Nest app.

  1. Tap the Add button to begin adding a Nest device to the app.

  1. You will then be presented with a list of Nest devices that can be added to the app. Choose your Nest Connect from the list provided.

  1. You now have the opportunity to use your smartphone's camera to scan your Nest device's QR code. Alternatively, if you cannot locate your Nest device's QR code, you can tap Continue without scanning.

  1. Choose a place for your Nest Connect.

  1. Your Nest Connect will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.

  1. Your Nest device will attempt to connect. This process may take a few moments.
  2. Once connected, you will see an acknowledgement screen.
  3. Congratulations! Your Nest device has been added to the Nest app and is ready to use.
