How to Create and Switch Profiles in Chrome

1. Introduction

Signing into your Google account with your Google Chrome browser affords you a number of extra features, such as saving and syncing your bookmarks across all the devices you use Chrome on, screen sharing, and easy transfer of pages from your mobile devices to your desktop and vice versa.

Chrome allows for multiple users to have separate profiles, for example, having separate profiles for your Work and Home Google Accounts.

Tools You'll Need:

  • A paperclip
  • iPhone charging cable
  • Access to a computer with iTunes installed
  • Any other non-consumable tools needed
  • Comment out tools section if no tools are necessary

Before You Begin:

You must have Google Chrome installed

You must have a Google account

2. Create New Profile in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome, and select the user icon in the top right.

  1. Select Manage People.

  1. Select Add person.

  1. Enter a name for the new person, select an icon to help represent this new account and make it easier to find later. Then, select Add.

If you want, you can then link that new profile to a Google Account.

3. Switch Profiles in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome, and select the user icon in the top right.
