How to Factory Reset a Comcast Xfinity X1 Remote

1. Introduction

If all else fails when trying to troubleshoot your Comcast Xfinity X1 Remote, you can factory reset it.

Factory resetting your remote will return it to the state it was in right out of the box. All of your settings and your pairings will need to be re-programmed.

Tools You'll Need:

• A paperclip
• iPhone charging cable
• Access to a computer with iTunes installed
• Any other non-consumable tools needed
• Comment out tools section if no tools are necessary

• Zip ties
• Any other consumable supplies
• Comment out supplies section if no supplies are necessary

Before You Begin:

• You must have access to a computer with iTunes installed.
• You must have that thing for the other thing so you can do the thing.

2. Factory Reset a Comcast Xfinity X1 Remote

Resetting your remote back to factory defaults will erase all pairing or programming that was previously performed. Your remote will need to be re-paired or re-programmed in order to control any non-Xfinity equipment it was previously controlling.

Factory Reset a Remote With the Setup Button

1. Press and hold the Setup button.
