If your DJI drone is not working as intended and you've exhausted all other possible repair steps or you want to give it to someone else, you can reset it to factory defaults.
This guide will help you with that process.
- Launch the DJI Assistant 2 app.
- If you don't see your email address in the top right corner, click Login.
- Fill in your DJI account information then click Sign In.
- Plug the smaller connector of the provided USB cable into the rear end of the drone.
- Plug the other connector of the USB cable into the computer.
- Make sure the gimbal cover is removed so the gimbal can move freely during the warm-up process.
- On the bottom of the drone, press and release the power button then press it again quickly and hold it until you hear it make the initialization sound.
Depending on which DJI drone you have, the connected device may show a different name. However, the following procedure is the same for all DJI drones.
- In the DJI Assistant 2 app, select your drone under Connected Devices.
- Below the Firmware List click Restore Factory Defaults.
- Click Confirm to start the factory reset process.
- Wait for the factory reset process to complete.
Do not turn off or disconnect the drone or exit the app during the factory reset.
- You will get a confirmation message once the factory reset process was finished. Click Complete.
- Attach the Micro USB adapter to the provided USB cable.
- Plug the small connector of the USB cable into the left side of the remote control.
- Plug the other connector of the USB cable into the computer.
- On the remote control, press and release the power button then press it again quickly and hold it until you hear it make the initialization sound.
Depending on which DJI remote control you have, the connected device may show a different name. However, the following procedure is the same for all DJI remote controls.
- In the DJI Assistant 2 app, select your remote control under Connected Devices.
- Below the Firmware List click Restore Factory Defaults.
- Click Confirm to start the factory reset process.
- Wait for the factory reset process to complete.
