1. Introduction

Download codes are used to redeem a purchased game. These can also be found in bundles, and giveaways. Sometimes when you attempt to redeem a game, you may come across the error stating "This code has already been used". This guided path will assist you in troubleshooting this error.

2. Verify Correct Code

Verifying that you are entering the correct 16 digit code. If the Download Code was included in a hardware bundle, it will be located on an insert included with the bundle.

Some characters can be hard to distinguish. A 0 may look like an 8 or a 5 may look like a 2.

3. Check Previously Downloaded Titles

Check your previously downloaded titles in the Nintendo eShop. If the download code was already redeemed on your system, you can re-download the game on your Nintendo Switch, Wii U, or Nintendo 3DS family system without entering the code again.
