1. Introduction

  • How to deal with issues encountered during your Parrot drone's firmware update process.

You'll Need:

  • A mobile device with the FreeFlight Pro app already installed.

2. Charge Battery

  1. Pull the latch upwards on the rear end of the drone to release the battery, then pull out the battery.

  1. Connect the battery to the charger and the charger to a power outlet. The battery charge indicator light will turn orange while the battery is charging and then green when it's fully charged.

  1. The battery should take about 45 minutes to charge.
  2. Slide the battery back into place and make sure it clicks.

3. OS Choice

To continue, we need to know what Operating System your smartphone or tablet has.

There are 2 main Operating Systems for smartphones currently available, Android and iOS.

4. Close Running Apps

  1. Tap the Recent Apps button.

  1. The Recent Apps button may be located on either the bottom left or bottom right as either an onscreen button or a physical button. If you're unsure which button it is, please refer to the user manual of your android device.
  2. Either tap the X or swipe to the right to close an app.

5. Check App Updates

  1. Open the Play Store.

7. Uninstall App (Android)

  1. Open Apps on your Android device.

  1. Look for the FreeFlight Pro app.

  1. Tap and hold the app's icon until you see the Uninstall option show up at the top side of the screen.

  1. Drag the icon over the Uninstall option until the icon turns red and release it.

  1. You will be asked whether you want to uninstall the app. Tap OK to confirm.

8. Install App (Android)

  1. Launch the Play Store on your mobile device.

9. First Launch

  1. On the first launch of the app, you'll have to Accept the Legal Mentions.

  1. Slide through the pages if you wish to review the new features of the current app version then tap the Back arrow in the top left.

  1. Review features of the previous versions of the app, if you wish, then tap the Back arrow in the top left.

  1. Tap Connect Now in the middle.

  1. Log in with an existing Facebook or Google account or create a My.Parrot account.

11. Factory Reset

Resetting your drone to factory defaults will delete all your settings and preferences, as well as photos and videos stored in its internal memory.

  1. Press and release the button on the rear end of the drone to turn it on.

  1. The drone will make an initialization sound and the button will light up and blink a few times until it stabilizes.
  2. Press and hold the same button for at least 10 seconds.

  1. Release the button and wait for about a minute for the drone to reset.

  1. The drone will restart on its own. It will make the initialization sound and the light will blink a few times until it stabilizes.
  2. Your drone is now reset to factory defaults.

The way to show all running apps on an iOS device varies with the model you have:

  • Older iOS devices, up to the iPhone X, still come equipped with a circular home button beneath the screen.
  • Newer iOS devices, beginning with the iPhone X, no longer come equipped with the circular home button beneath the screen.

For iOS Devices with a Home Button

  1. Double-press the Home button quickly.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.

  1. You will now see a list of apps that are currently open. Swipe up on any of the apps to close them.

  1. When an update is available the App Store will show a red circle next to it. Open the App Store.

  1. On the main screen of your iOS device, look for the FreeFlight Pro app.
