2. Automatic Firmware Check

By default, your Netgear range extender will automatically check for updates when you log in.

You do not need to make any changes for this to happen, it takes place automatically by default.

3. Power Cycle

  1. Unplug the Range Extender from the wall.

  1. Wait ten seconds.

  1. Plug the Range Extender back in.
  2. Wait one minute for the Range Extender to start back up fully.

  1. Make sure your smartphone, computer, or other device has re-connected to your Range Extender's Wi-Fi Network.

4. Factory Reset Check

The next step is to factory reset and re-setup your Range Extender.

You will need to re-setup the Range Extender from the beginning, as if it were new.
