How to Fix HomeKit Not Working with Sylvania Devices

1. Introduction
Getting your smart lighting to talk to your Apple HomeKit system can be frustrating. This guide will take you through the simple checks and fixes you can perform to get your Sylvania lights working properly again.
Before You Begin:
HomeKit Setup You must have HomeKit setup in the first place.
In most cases, restarting the smart light or plug is enough to bring it back online and working properly again.
Do Not Skip This Step!
It is critically important you don't dismiss or skip over this first step, even if it seems too simple to fix the problem.
Turn off the power to your smart device. This may mean flipping the switch or unplugging the device, depending.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug back in or turn back on your smart device.
Wait 30 seconds for the device to re-connect to your hub.
Try accessing your smart device from your app again.
3. Reset HomeKit System
Sometimes, your various accessories and devices connected to your HomeKit system can become badly out-of-sync to a point where multiple problems start happening. Carefully resetting your entire HomeKit system, focusing on the misbehaving accessories, can help deal with this problem and get everything back up and working.
Turn off the power to any Accessories that are having problems.Normally, you leave the power to these on, but we are turning them off as part of the troubleshooting process. We will turn them back on at the end.
Turn off your HomeKit Hub.This could be your iPad or iPhone you leave at home, or your Apple TV or HomePod speaker.
Turn off your modem and/or router.These are the boxes for your Internet service; all of your connected devices use your home network eventually, it may be having problems, and power cycling it can resolve these issues.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug in or turn on your modem and router.
Wait 60 seconds for your modem and router to come back online.
Turn on your HomeKit Hub.
Turn on any accessories or devices you had turned off.
Wait 60 seconds to three minutes for all your devices to start up, and reconnect.
Try using your HomeKit devices again.
4. Reset Check
Our next step is to factory reset the Sylvania Smart+ device to factory defaults, then re-setup the device.
You will need to go through and re-setup the device as if you first purchased it after this process.
5. Factory Reset
You will need to re-setup your Sylvania Smart+ device, just like when you first purchased it, once it is factory reset.
Disconnect the power, reconnect the power, wait five seconds, and repeat this process 5 times.
Your light will flash to indicate it is reset.
Multi-color Light
The Multicolored light will flash blue, red, green, then stay on white to indicate it is reset.
White Light & Smart Plug
The white light will go dim, then bright a few times before staying on bright to indicate it is reset.
6. Add Accessory
To add a new accessory or device to your HomeKit setup:
Open the Home app.
Choose Add Accessory, or tap the âž• symbol.
If you are asked to add an accessory, tap Allow.
Use a camera to take a picture of the HomeKit code or QR code on the accessory or documentation.
If you have an iPhone 7 or later, and see the the below symbol instead, just hold your phone next to the accessory for a few moments.
You'll be asked to enter the details about the device, such as what room the device is in, the name you want to give it. Enter this information so it's easier to find in the future.
Tap Done when you've got all the information entered.
7. What's next?
Your device should be paired and working properly once again!
If you are still having problems or are unable to factory reset your Sylvania bulb or device, it means there is something else wrong with the bulb or device itself. You will need to contact Sylvania, or the place you purchased your Sylvania product from, for further assistance in either repairing, or replacing it.
