1 Temporary Power To Unlock
If the keypad will not light, but is locked, it's possible the batteries in the lock have been drained.
As a temporary fix, you can use an external battery to enter your home. Then you can replace the batteries.
- Acquire a 9-Volt battery. These are the square ones with terminals on the top.
- Hold the battery to the two terminals at the bottom of your lock.
- The keypad will light up, and will say "Press the Yale logo to begin. The batteries are very low. Replace the batteries now."Do not remove the battery you are holding to the lock, it is currently powering the lock.
- Press the Yale logo, then enter your code, then press the checkmark.
- Your door will unlock.
Once you hear the door unlock, it is safe to release the battery.
