This guide will help you resolve sound issues on your Xbox 360.
Types of issues this guide will tackle:
No sound.
Sound is too quiet, loud, or is unbalanced when headset is plugged in.
2. Check HDMI Cables or Try Different Cables
Check the HDMI cable ends and device ports and remove any foreign objects.
Check for cable damage. If it is damaged then it should be replaced.
Securely reconnect the HDMI cable between your devices.
Try using a different high-speed HDMI cable. Some cables are higher quality than others, a low-quality cable may impact your sound and video signal.
3. Change Audio Output
Press the Guide button.
Select Settings.
Select System Settings.
Select Console Settings.
Select Audio.
Select the configuration option that matches your system.
4. Display Discovery
The 360’s Display Discovery feature will query your HDTV for its native resolution and adjust the console’s output resolution to match. At times this can cause an issue with your HDTV's speakers but can be easily corrected by turning it off.
Press the Guide button.
Select Settings.
Select System Settings.
Select Console Settings.
Select Display.
Select Display Discovery.
Select Disable.
Turn off your Xbox 360 console, and then turn it back on. Test to see if the sound works correctly.
