How to Fix the Xbox App

1. Introduction

The SmartGlass app for mobile devices can assist you in being able to interact with and control your Xbox One gaming console. If your mobile device is struggling with the SmartGlass app, this guide will take you through the process of troubleshooting and configuring the app to get it functioning properly.

2. Introduction

To ensure that we configure everything properly, we will completely remove the SmartGlass app from your mobile device and reconfigure everything from the ground up.

3. Uninstall iOS App

To remove the Xbox app from iOS devices:

  1. From your main screen, locate the Xbox app.

  1. Lightly touch and hold the app until it jiggles or vibrates.

4. Introduction

In order for your Xbox One console to be able to see and communicate with your mobile device properly, it must be connected to your home network and configured properly.

5. Xbox One Setup

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select Settings and then select All Settings.
  3. Select Preferences and then select Xbox app connections.
  4. Select From any SmartGlass device to allow your SmartGlass devices to connect.

6. Install iOS App

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

  1. Tap the Search icon and search for SmartGlass.
  2. Locate the Xbox SmartGlass app in the search results.
  3. Tap Install App and follow the instructions.

7. Mobile Device Setup

Make sure that you’re signed in to the SmartGlass app with your Microsoft account when you connect the SmartGlass app to your Xbox console. Additionally, make sure that the Microsoft account is the one that’s associated with your Xbox Live gamertag. If you don’t know the Microsoft account that’s associated with your Xbox Live account, reach out to Microsoft Xbox support for further assistance.

9. Install Android App

To use SmartGlass for Android, your device must have Android 4.0 (“Ice Cream Sandwich”) or later installed.

  1. Open Google Play on your Android device.

  2. Follow the instructions to download and install the app on your Android.

11. Uninstall Android App

To remove the SmartGlass app from Android devices:

  1. Go to Android Settings (1), then General (2), then Application Manager (3).
