Smartphones and tablets that have the Alexa app installed can be used as a replacement for Alexa-enabled devices.
2. Verify Basic Setup has Been Completed
In order to proceed with this guide successfully, your ecobee Smart Thermostat must be fully installed and functioning properly.
3. Listen to Notifications
Whenever you get a blue bubble icon on your ecobee thermostat it means you have notifications from Amazon Alexa:
To listen to or clear notifications you have to speak to your Alexa-enabled device.
Listen to Notifications

- "Alexa, read my notifications."
- "Alexa, what did I miss?"
- "Alexa, next / previous." ‒ to navigate through notifications
Clear Notifications
