How to Pair Bluetooth Devices to a SkyStream One

This guide will walk you through connecting a Bluetooth accessory to your SkyStream One.

2. Range Check

The device needs to be within a reasonable range in order to connect.

  • In general, to pair and use a Bluetooth device (like a speaker, headset or smartwatch), the device needs to be within 10 feet of your computer or other device.
  • Some medium and higher-power devices can be farther, up to about 30 feet, but this tends to be for larger devices that plug in or have very large batteries, such as another computer, media streaming device, or a plug-in speaker system.

Try moving the Bluetooth device closer if you have trouble.

3. Pair Bluetooth Device

  1. Under Remote & accessories, click on Add accessory.

  1. If Bluetooth is not on, click the toggle to enable Bluetooth.

  1. Place your Bluetooth accessory in Pairing Mode.

    If your device not on the list of devices:

    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the device you're trying to pair with.
    • Make sure the Bluetooth accessory is charged and powered on.
    • Make sure the Bluetooth accessory is in pairing mode.
    • Move your Bluetooth accessory close (within a couple of feet) to the device you're trying to pair with.
    • Try power cycling both the accessory and device you're pairing it with.
    • If you have any other Bluetooth devices, see if that device shows up while in pairing mode

    If your device is on the list but you are unable to pair:

    • Try power cycling both the accessory and device you're pairing it with.
    • Move your Bluetooth accessory close (within a couple of feet) to the device you're trying to pair with.
    • If you are asked for a PIN, be sure you're using the correct pin (found in the user's guide of the Bluetooth accessory)
    • If you have any other Bluetooth devices available, see if you are able to pair with them.
