How to Play Music on a Yamaha BD-S681 Blu-ray Player

1. Introduction

2. Menu Navigation

3. Insert Disc

  1. Press the Eject button on the device to open the tray.

  1. Place the disc into the tray with the label facing up.

  1. Press the eject button again to close the tray.
  2. The content on the disc should start playing automatically.
  3. For commercially recorded discs playback should start automatically. If it doesn't, then press the Play button on the player or the remote.

4. Play from Media

You can choose between:

  • An inserted disc
  • A connected USB device
  • A networked DLNA compatible device. Please refer to the devices documentation to learn how to connect it to the network.

Playable audio file types:

  • MP3 (.mp3)
  • WMA (.wma)
  • AAC (.aac / .m4a)
  • WAV (.wav)
  • FLAC (.flac)
  • ALAC (.m4a)
  • DSDIFF (.dff)
  • DSF (.dsf)

Here are the steps to take:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
  2. Select the device you want to play media from.

5. Music Playback Controls

Pause symbol

Pauses playback.

Stop symbol

Stops playback.

Search symbol

Searches backward and forward. Search speed changes with every button press.

Short skip symbol

Skip 10 seconds backward and 30 seconds forward.

Track skip symbol

Skip to the beginning or previous track and to the next track.

6. Connect USB Device

  1. Locate the USB ports on the front or rear of the Blu-ray player.
