Samsung Home Theater Systems allow you to enjoy music from a multitude of sources such as connected devices or included features. This guide will show you how to play or stream music and audio on your Sony Home Theater Systems.
1 Menu Navigation
The menu navigation controls on the remote are as follows:

- Home - Press to move to the Home menu
- Return - Return to the previous menu
- Arrows▲/▼/►/◄ - Move the cursor or select an item
Enter - Activate the currently selected item or confirm a setting - Exit - Press to exit the current menu

- Press the Eject button on the device to open the tray
- Place the disc into the tray with the label facing up.
- Press the eject button on the device to close the tray.
- If it is a commercially recorded disc, the content on the disc will start playing automatically.
You can choose between:
- A user recorded disc.
- A USB device.
- A networked PC and/or any DLNA compatible device. Please refer to the devices documentation to learn how to connect it to the network.
To play from a media source:
- From the main screen select Change Device.
- Select the device you want to play media from.
- Then select the type of content you want to play from the device. If it contains other types of content they will not show up.
- Browse through the content and select what you want to play.
The music playback controls on the remote are as follows:

- Numbers (Audio CD only) - Jump to and play the desired track in the playlist.
- Skip - Move to the previous or next file of the playlist.
- Stop - Stops playback.
- Fast Play (Audio CD only) - Changes playback speed with every press of the button.
- Pause - Pauses playback.
- Play - Starts playback.
- Open the protective USB cover and connect your USB device into the player.
- The screen will show a pop-up asking you to select the type of content you wish to access on it. If it contains other types of content they will not show up.
An internet connection is required to stream with these apps. App availability may change over time.
Samsung Blu-ray players come with a few pre-installed apps that allow you to stream video and audio.- You can select any of the built-in apps from the bottom left corner of the main screen or select More for additional ones.
- From here you can select additional apps to stream content with.

Certain Samsung Blu-ray players come with the Opera TV Store pre-installed which gives you access to web apps that allow you to stream video and audio.- You can access the Opera TV Store from the icon at the bottom side of the main screen.
- Scroll left and right through the categories at the top then go down and select your desired app.
- Then select Open to launch the app.
- Connect the supplied FM antenna to the rear of the home theater unit.
- Press the Function button on the remote control to display the FM message on the front of the home theater unit.
- Use the radio controls to tune to the desired station:
- Manual Tuning: Press the Stop button to select Manual then press the Tuning Up or Tuning Down button to tune in to a higher or lower frequency.
- Automatic Tuning: Press the Stop button select Manual then press and hold the Tuning Up or Tuning Down button for a few seconds to automatically search the band.
- Preset Tuning: Press the Stop button to select Preset then press the Tuning Up or Tuning Down button to select a preset station.
- To preset a station you have to press the Tuner Memory button twice within 5 seconds, when a station is selected during the manual or automatic tuning methods.
Bluetooth technology allows you to stream content wirelessly between devices without connecting any cables. With your devices connected via Bluetooth to your Samsung unit, sound will play pack thru the speakers connected to your Samsung unit, rather than the built-in speakers of your device. Playback can take place normally. The following steps are examples of playback options for your devices.
There are multiple apps that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for the purpose of playing or streaming music and audio on your device.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Within the Google Play Store, tap Categories then Music & Audio.
- Browse through the listed music apps and select the one you prefer. You can even check the most popular ones by tapping Top Charts.

- Windows Media Player 12 is a common media player option built into Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 for playing music and video files. Windows Media Player has the ability to play music, rip music from and copy music to compact discs, burn discs in audio CD format, or as data discs with playlists such as an MP3 CD.
- Spotify is like a jukebox you only need to feed once, or a radio that plays what you want in between ads. Spotify’s music library contains everything from mainstream pop hits to obscure death metal classics.
- iTunes is a media player made by Apple that is used for playing digital music or video files. iTunes is also used to purchase digital music files or subscribe to podcasts through Apple's iTunes Music Store.
- VLC Media Player is a free and open source media player. VLC is a portable multimedia player, encoder, and streamer supporting many audio and video codecs and file formats as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

- Amazon offers free music streaming with Prime, a paid music service for an additional monthly fee, direct MP3 sales, a way to get MP3s when you purchase audio CDs, and a music locker you can upload your own songs to.
