How to Play Music Sony BDVE3100 Blu-ray Home Theater

1. Introduction
Sony Home Theater Systems allow you to enjoy music from a multitude of sources such as connected devices or included features. This guide will show you how to play or stream music and audio on your Sony Home Theater Systems.
2. Menu Navigation
The menu navigation controls on the Remote are as follows:
Home - Press to bring up the home screen
Arrows - Move the cursor or select an item
Enter - Activate the currently selected item or confirm a setting
Return - Return to the previous menu
3. Insert Disc
Press the Eject button on the player to open the tray.
Place the disc into the tray with the label facing up.
Press the Eject button on the device to close the tray.
The content on the disc should start playing automatically.
If the playback doesn't start automatically you have to start the playback manually.
4. Play from Media
You can play audio from:
An inserted disc
A connected USB device
A networked PC and/or storage device. Please refer to the devices documentation to learn how to connect it to the home network.
On the home screen, scroll left or right to cycle through the menu icons. The Photos, Music and Video categories will be where playable media can be found.
Within each category, scroll up or down to select the symbol of the media that you want to play content from.
Browse through the content and choose what you would like to play.
5. Music Playback Controls
Music playback controls on the Remote are as follows:

Stops playback
Searches backward and forward. Search speed changes with every button press
Skip to the beginning or previous track and to the next track
6. Connect USB Device
Open the protective USB cover, if your Blu-ray player has one.
Connect your USB device into the player.
7. Stream with Built-In Apps
An internet connection is required to stream with these apps. App availability may change over time.
Sony Blu-ray players come with a few pre-installed apps that allow you to stream video and audio.
You can select any of the built-in apps on the home screen from the Photos, Music or Video categories. Navigate the categories horizontally and the apps vertically.
Once you've opened an app, you can browse through the content and choose what you want to play.
Another way to access the apps is by launching the Sony Entertainment Network from the SEN Home shortcut.
This has a tile based layout if you prefer it over the home screens layout.
8. Stream with Web Apps
An internet connection is required to stream with these apps. App availability may change over time.
Certain Sony Blu-ray players come with the Opera TV Store pre-installed which gives you access to web apps that allow you to stream video and audio.
You can access the Opera TV Store from the Network menu on the home screen.
Scroll left and right through the categories at the top then go down and select your desired app.
Then select Open to launch the app.
9. Listen to Radio
Press the Function button repeatedly on the remote control until FM displays on the front of the home theater unit.
Use the radio controls to tune to the desired station:
Manual Tuning: Press the Tuning + or Tuning - button repeatedly to tune in to a higher or lower frequency.
Automatic Tuning: Press and hold the Tuning + or Tuning - button until the auto scanning starts.
Preset Tuning: Press the Preset + or Preset - button to select a preset station.
To preset a station press the Options button on a selected station during the manual or automatic tuning methods, then select Preset Memory from the menu. Use the UpArrow and Down Arrow buttons to choose the preset number you want and press Enter.
10. Play to or from Bluetooth Device
This home theater system can be used as both a Bluetooth receiver or Bluetooth transmitter.
When paired as a receiver, audio can be streamed to the system from a transmitter.
When paired as a transmitter, audio can be streamed from the system to a receiver and the system also acts as a controller.
11. Play to Bluetooth Device
Maximum operating distance is 33 feet.
Press the Bluetooth button on the remote control.
Press the Options button.
Using the up and down arrows select Device List then press Enter.
Using the up and down arrows select the Bluetooth device from the list then press Enter.
You can initiate the playback on the home theater unit or its remote.
12. Play from Bluetooth Device
Maximum operating distance is 33 feet.
Press the Bluetooth button on the remote control.
Press the Options button.
Using the up and down arrows select Device List then press Enter.
Using the up and down arrows select the Bluetooth device from the list then press Enter.
You can initiate the playback on the Bluetooth device.

There are multiple apps that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for the purpose of playing or streaming music and audio on your device.
Open the Google Play Store.
Within the Google Play Store, tap Categories then Music & Audio.
Browse through the listed music apps and select the one you prefer. You can even check the most popular ones by tapping Top Charts.

Now that your device is outputting its audio via Bluetooth, media playback can take place normally. All audio that is played will now be played through the connected Bluetooth device instead of the built-in speakers. Common playback options can be found below.
