If your X1 DVR box just doesn't feel right, whether it won't record, won't get a signal, or can't access the guide, you'll need to troubleshoot it. When troubleshooting your Comcast X1 DVR Box you'll need to know how to reboot it. Rebooting it will clear any memory issues and let the DVR start with a clean slate. Restarting your DVR is often the first step in troubleshooting it and often the only step needed.
There are three ways to reboot your DVR box:
Use the Help Menu
Push the Power Button
Pull the Power Cable
Keep in mind, depending when you restart your DVR, your recording may be interrupted. If you're restarting while the DVR is recording, it will disrupt the recording. Already recorded and scheduled recordings as well as preferences will not be lost.
