3. Rename Thermostat

If you're having trouble distinguishing your ecobee Smart Thermostat amongst other ecobee devices within the ecobee app, or having trouble controlling it via virtual assistant, it may be helpful to rename it.

You can change the name of your ecobee Smart Thermostat either at the thermostat itself, or through the ecobee Web Portal:

Avoid using any special characters in the name you give your ecobee thermostat.

From the Thermostat

  1. From the home screen, tap Menu.

  1. Then go to Thermostat Name.

  1. Scroll through the list to pick a preset name or enter your own, then tap Save.

From the ecobee Web Portal

  1. Open your preferred web browser, and navigate to ecobee.com.

  1. Click the Login button located in the top right corner of the screen.

  1. Enter the username and password for your ecobee account, then click Sign In.
