This guide will assist you in performing a factory reset on your Nest Hello Video Doorbell. You may wish to do this if your device is not working as intended and you've exhausted all other possible repair steps or you want to give it to someone else.

Factory resetting your camera will erase all your camera’s settings and options. It will not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi.

You will need:

  • The release tool (or unfolded paper clip)

2. Remove Device from Nest Account

You can remove your Nest device (Thermostat, Cam, Dropcam, etc) from your Nest Account within the Nest app. Whether you’re using a computer or mobile phone, the steps are the same.

  1. To remove a Nest device from your Nest Account, log into your account with the Nest app.
  2. If you have multiple homes registered on the app, tap the Menu icon in the top left corner of the app home screen, then select the home that has the device you’d like to remove.
