The Eufy Genie is a smart speaker with the Alexa virtual assistant built-in. This means you can speak to Alexa and ask her to help you control your smart home, get the news, listen to music, review your calendar, set reminders, shop online, ask general questions and more. Within this guide you will learn how to set up your Eufy Genie by adding it to the EufyHome app and enabling the Alexa virtual assistant on it.
Plug the provided power supply into the Eufy Genie and an electrical outlet.
Wait for the ring light atop of the device to turn orange.
3. Add the Genie to the App
Open the EufyHome app on your phone or tablet.
Tap the plus sign in the top right.
Select Eufy Genie from the device list.
Select your preferred language and tap Next.
With the Eufy Genie powered on and the ring light atop of it turned orange, tap Next.
Next, you'll have to connect your phone or tablet to the Eufy Genie. This particular part of the setup depends on the type of mobile device you have.
Android Phone or Tablet
Tap Allow to permit the EufyHome to access your mobile device's location.
Your mobile device should detect the Eufy Genie. Tap +Add next to the Genie's WiFi network name.
If it doesn't detect it, then tap Search WiFi Networks and select it manually from the list.
The WiFi network you are looking for has the eufy Genie-XXXX pattern.
iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
You'll be shown some instructions on what to do. We will guide you through them. Tap Go to WiFi Settings.
Select the Eufy Genie's WiFi network name from the list.
The WiFi network you are looking for has the eufy Genie-XXXX pattern.
Once you selected the right WiFi network tap the back arrow in the top left to return to the EufyHome app.
Once connected to the Eufy Genie, choose the WiFi network within your home that all your other devices are connected to and have the Genie join that same WiFi network.
Enter the WiFi password for the chosen network and tap Next.
Give your Eufy Genie a name if you'd like or leave it as default then tap Save.
You'll get a confirmation screen that the Eufy Genie was connected to your WiFi. Tap Next to continue.
Next, you'll need to Sign in with Amazon to enable the built-in Alexa virtual assistant on the Genie.
Enter the email address and password associated with your Amazon account then tap Sign in.
On the final screen you'll see a few examples of voice commands that you can use with Alexa. Tap Done to finish the setup.
