1. Introduction

What's in the box?

LG televisions normally come with just the television and a remote.

Things you need before you start:

  • An LG television.
  • Applicable cables (HDMI, coax, ethernet)
  • An internet connection - You need to connect your device to a Wi-Fi or wired (Ethernet) network to complete setup and access all of the content available on Samsung TV

2. Plugging in Cables

  1. Plug your HDMI cable into your cable box if you have one.
  2. Plug your power cable into the television and the other end into an outlet.

5. Internet Connection

The following steps will help you connect your LG Smart TV to the internet.

6. Credentials

In order to connect to a wireless network, you must have the required credentials. These are:

  • Wireless Network Name (SSID)
  • Wireless Network Key (Password)

Finding Network Credentials

Most wireless routers/gateways have a label with the default credentials. If the credentials aren't there, look in the devices documentation.

If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) installed the wireless router or gateway, they might have left you a setup sheet which may have the credentials.

7. Determine Platform

We must determine which platform is loaded on your LG Smart TV before beginning. Newer TVs released after 2014 will have webOS. Older models released between 2011 and 2015 will have NetCast. See the images below to help tell the difference.
