iCloud provides an email service, should you choose to setup an account. This guide will help you setup the Mac Mail program to access your email.
Before You Begin:
Verify Password Before setting up, take a moment to visit the Apple ID website, and try to log in (sign out then back in if you need to). You will need to remember your password in order to complete setup.
Connecting your iCloud account to your Mac allows you access to your iCloud email, as well as your iCloud storage, backup, and other services.
Select the Apple Menu, then select System Preferences.
Depending on how you have things setup, you may see a banner at top, or simply an icon for your Apple ID.
Apple ID Setup Banner
If your Apple ID has not been setup on your Mac before, your System Preferences may show a special banner at top. Select the Sign In button.
Apple ID Icon
If Apple ID has been previously setup, or if it's setup now, you may just see an icon for Apple ID. Select Apple ID.
Type in your Apple ID and select Next.
Enter your Apple ID Password, and select Next.
A link to the terms and conditions will appear. Carefully read the iCloud terms and conditions. When you have read and agree to them, place a check mark on the left, and select Continue.
Apple ID will ask to enable location services, select Allow.
Your Apple ID is now set up on your Mac. You can open Mail to access your iCloud mail, or Finder to access your iCloud files.
