1. Introduction

This guide will show you how to perform a basic setup for your Samsung Blu-ray player.

In the box you should find the following items:

  • The player itself
  • The remote control with batteries
  • The user manual

3. Setup Prep

Before performing the setup follow these preparatory steps:

  • Place the Blu-ray player close to your TV set so that it is within the length of the HDMI cable and of the power cable.
  • Only connect the power cable into a power outlet once all the other cables have been plugged into the player and the TV set.
  • Insert the batteries in the remote control with their terminals corresponding to the polarity indicators.

5. Menu Navigation

The menu navigation controls on the remote are as follows:

  1. Home - Press to move to the Home menu
  2. Return - Return to the previous menu
  3. Arrowsâ–²/â–¼/â–º/â—„ - Move the cursor or select an item
    Enter - Activate the currently selected item or confirm a setting
  4. Exit - Press to exit the current menu

6. Initial Setup

The first time you turn the Blu-ray player on it will show the Initial Setup. To perform the setup and navigate the menu afterward you'll need to use the remote control.

  1. Connect the Blu-ray players power cable into a power outlet and press the power button on it or on the remote to turn it on.

  1. On the TV screen you will be taken to the initial setup. Select your preferred language first.

  1. Choose your desired aspect ratio. You can highlight each option to get a description for it before you make your selection.

  1. To be able to stream online content with the Blu-ray player, it has to be connected to the internet. If you already connected an Ethernet cable between the player and router it will be detected automatically. Select Auto and wait for the connection to be established then select OK to continue. If you don't have a network or don't want to configure it at this time you can select Skip.

  1. You'll get a confirmation message that the initial setup is completed.

  1. If you haven't connected an Ethernet cable, then the setup will take you to the Wi-Fi configuration screen. If you don't have a network or don't want to configure it at this time you can select Skip. Wait for the network list to populate then select your preferred Wi-Fi network. You will only get this screen if your device supports Wi-Fi connectivity.

  1. Type in the Wi-Fi password if required.

  1. Once connected to the Wi-Fi and internet, you will see a confirmation message on the screen. Select OK to continue.

  1. Once your player is connected to the internet you can choose which streaming apps you want to show on the main screen. To do this, select More from the bottom middle of the screen.

  1. And toggle the checkmarks for which apps you want to use or not the select OK. You can only have up to 3 apps selected.

At this point your Samsung Blu-ray player is set up and ready to use.
