How to Sign in to Chrome

Introduction

Signing into your Google account with your Google Chrome browser affords you a number of extra features, such as saving and syncing your bookmarks across all the devices you use Chrome on, screen sharing, and easy transfer of pages from your mobile devices to your desktop and vice versa.
Before You Begin:
You must have a Google account
Chrome

1 Sign into Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome, and look for your user icon in the top right.

  2. You can tell if you are signed in or not by what the icon looks like.
    Custom Icon
    User Icon of a FlowerYou have signed in, and chosen a custom icon for yourself on Google's services.
    Letter in Colored Circle
    User Icon of the letter AYou are already signed in, and simply have not assigned a custom icon to your account. This is normal and will work fine.
    Default Silhouette
    Chrome default user silhouetteYou have not signed in, and in order to proceed, you will need to sign into your Google account first.
     
  3. You may want to sign off the current profile so you can sign into a new one.
    How to Sign Out of Chrome
    1. Open Google Chrome, and select your user icon.

    2. Select your account.

    3. Select Turn Off.

    4. You'll be asked to confirm, select Turn Off.

  4. If you don't have an account, you can create one in minutes.
    Create a New Profile In Chrome
  5. Open Google Chrome, and select the user icon in the top right.

  6. Select Turn On Sync.

  7. Enter your Google email address, then select Next.

  8. Enter your Google Password, then select Next.

    Depending on your Google Account, you may be asked further questions, such as for two-factor authentication options. Follow the instructions on your screen to complete signing into your Google Account.
  9. You'll be asked if you also wish to Sync your bookmarks, search history, and other information across devices. This can be changed later in settings. For now, select Yes, I'm in.
