This guide provides instructions on How to Troubleshoot Cox Access is Blocked Pop Up Issue.
Issue:
When the customer connects their Firestick/ Fire TV to a Public Hotspot (Cox Wifi), they will be presented with the pop ups Indicating the access is blocked. When they close this pop up, it will re-open itself after 5 seconds later and this will happen indefinitely (Power cycling doesn't resolve)
Resolution:
1. Whenever the pop up appears the customer needs to close it with the Back button.
2. Inbetween pop ups they need to navigate to the Wireless Settings/ Settings.
3. And select Network.
4. Next, they need to hover over the currently connected wifi network. (Usually Cox Wifi, or might be other Public Hotspots)
5. They need to press the Menu button on the remote to Forget the network.( 3 Horizontal Bars)
6. Now, they will be prompted to Forget Network, they need to press the Select button (the middle button) on the remote to confirm ‘forgetting’ their network and the pop ups will be ceased.
7. Then, they need to connect to the Private Network
