How to Turn Off WiFi on iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

2. Turn Off WiFi

There are three ways to turn off WiFi on your iOS device:

Turn off WiFi by Asking Siri

  1. Say: "Hey Siri"
  2. Wait a moment for Siri to indicate she's listening, then say "Turn off WiFi."

Turn off WiFi through the Control Center

This is a quick method but it only disconnects your WiFi devices until:

  • The next day at 5 AM
  • You move to another location
  • You restart your device
  • You reconnect manually
  1. Open the Control Center.

On iPhone X or later, or iPad with iOS 12 or later

  • Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen.

On iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad with iOS 11 or earlier

  • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

  1. Tap the WiFi icon to turn it off.

Turn off WiFi through the Settings

  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  1. Tap the toggle switch to the right of Wi-Fi to turn it off.
