How to Update a Garmin Vivofit Fitness Tracker

1. Introduction

In order to update the Garmin device, we must install a computer application called Garmin Express. The program also allows helps with setup, registering and managing the device.

2. Pair with ANT

In order to use the Garmin Vivofit with a PC, the Garmin ANT USB stick must be used.

1. Find the ANT stick in your Vívofit's packaging and insert it into any available USB port on your computer.
   

1. Press and hold the button on your Vívofit until you see PAIR on the device screen, then release the button.
   

1. Your device is now ready to communicate with your computer.

3. Install Windows App

1. Open a web browser on your PC and navigate tohttps://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express
2. Click on Download for Windows.

2. Run GarminExpress.exe to start installation
3. Check the box next to the terms and conditions statement and click the Install button.

2. Press Yes / Continue to allow program to make changes
3. Press the Launch Garmin Express.
   

4. Perform Update

1. Click on Get Started.

2. Click on Add a Device.

2. Once your device is located click Continue.

2. When setup is complete click Go to Garmin Connect.

2. Press and hold the button on your Garmin Vivofit until Sync displays.

2. At this point any updates that are available will happen once you sync your device.
   

5. Install macOS App

1. Open a web browser on your MAC and navigate tohttps://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express
2. Click on Download for Mac.

2. Open GarminExpress.dmg from the Downloads folder or download location.
3. In the new window, double click on the Install Garmin Express icon.

2. The program will determine if the software can be installed. Click on Continue.

2. Click Continue.

2. Review the License Agreement and then click Continue.

2. Click on Agree.

2. Click on Install.

2. Enter your computer's administrative username and password and click Install Software.

2. When the install is finished, click Close.

6. Perform Update
