Updates are taken care of automatically on the Norton Core Router. As long as the router is properly connected to the internet, the device will take care of the rest.
If you wish to manually update your router, this guide will assist you in updating and receiving update notifications on your phone.
2. Force an Update
To check if you have a new firmware update available, please follow the below procedure:
On the top-left corner of your Norton Core App, tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Scroll down the Settings menu and tap About.
Under Firmware Version, tap Update Available. (If your firmware is current it will say Up to date.)
You may be prompted to reset the Norton Core router to update the firmware.
In the confirmation screen, tap Yes. Follow the on-screen instructions.
After the firmware update is complete, you will be prompted to sign in with your Norton account credentials.
3. Get Update Notifications
By default, push notification is turned off for Norton Core. In the Norton Core app, you view notifications in the Security > Notification screen.
To set up push notifications:
On the top-left corner, tap the Menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Notifications.
In the Notifications screen, slide the Allow Push Notification switch to on.
Under Router and Network and Parental Controls, turn off the items for which you do not want push notifications.
