How to update your Parrot drone's firmware with your mobile device.
You'll Need:
A mobile device with the FreeFlight Pro app already installed.
The drone to be connected to the mobile device before checking for an update.
2. Update Firmware
To benefit from new features, improvements and bug fixes you need to keep your Parrot drone's firmware up to date. The update needs to be performed in the following order:
Connect your mobile device to your drone's Wi-Fi and launch the FreeFlight Pro app to automatically retrieve the drone's firmware version.
Connect your mobile device to a Wi-Fi with internet access to check for and download any available updates onto your mobile device.
Connect your mobile device to your drone's Wi-Fi and launch the FreeFlight Pro app to install the downloaded update(s) onto the drone.
You only have to perform step 1 the first time you use your drone. After that, you only need to perform steps 2 and 3.

4. Turn On
Press and release the button on the rear end of the drone to turn it on.
The drone will make an initialization sound and the button will light up and blink a few times until it stabilizes.

To continue, we need to know what Operating System your smartphone or tablet has.
There are 2 main Operating Systems for smartphones currently available, Android and iOS.

6. Connect to Home Wi-Fi
Depending on what device (Smartphone or Tablet) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar across all Android devices and generations.
Open Settings.
Select Wi-Fi.
Make sure Wi-Fi is set to On at the top.
Select your home's Wi-Fi network from the list.
If required, enter the Wi-Fi password for the network, then select Connect.
7. Download Update
Launch the FreeFlight Pro app on your mobile device.
Go to the Menu in the top left.
And select Check for updates.
If there is an available update for your drone, you will see a download option to the right of its name. Tap Download.
Wait for the download to complete and for the Ready for Update message to appear, then tap the back arrow in the top left.
At this point you need to switch from the Wi-Fi with internet access to the your drone's Wi-Fi.
8. Connect Android Device
Depending on your exact device (Smartphone or Tablet), and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar across all Android devices and generations.
Open Settings.
Select Wi-Fi.
Select the Bebop2_xxxxx Wi-Fi network from the list.
By default, you don't need to enter a Wi-Fi password. You only need to enter one if you set it yourself.
9. Install Update
Launch the FreeFlight Pro app on your mobile device.
A prompt will pop up showing an update is required for your connected drone. Tap OK to continue.
Tap Install to the right of the drone's name.
Wait for the update file to be sent to the drone until you get a prompt to restart the drone. Tap OK to continue. This will disconnect your mobile device from the drone.
Wait for the drone to install the update, restart and reconnect to your mobile device.
If your drone doesn't reconnect automatically within three minutes, you'll have to reconnect it manually.
Once your drone has reconnected it should show it's up to date.
10. Connect to Home Wi-Fi
Depending on what device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be the same across all iOS devices and generations.
Open Settings.
Select Wi-Fi.
Make sure Wi-Fi is set to On.
Select your home's Wi-Fi network from the list.
If required, enter the Wi-Fi password for the network, then select Join.
11. Download Update
Launch the FreeFlight Pro app on your mobile device.
Go to the Menu in the top left.
And select Check for updates.
If there is an available update for your drone, you will see a download option to the right of its name. Tap Download.
Wait for the download to complete and for the Ready for Update message to appear, then tap the back arrow in the top left.
At this point you need to switch from the Wi-Fi with internet access to the your drone's Wi-Fi.
12. Connect Mobile Device (iOS)

Open Settings.
Select Wi-Fi.
Select the Bebop2_xxxxx Wi-Fi network from the list.
