Authored by: Support.com Tech Pro Team

1. Introduction

Firmware updates for Smart TVs are used to enhance current features, fix bugs, and in some cases add additional applications to the device. You can perform the update via the Web (recommended). However, there are times where we may need to update via USB in order to resolve a problem.

What you'll need:

  • If you are updating via the web, your TV should be connected to the internet
  • If you are updating via USB drive, you'll need a computer with an internet connection and a USB drive with enough free storage space.

2. Update via Web

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control.
  2. Select Support.
  3. Select Software Update.

  1. If this area is greyed out, it could be because the TV has just been switched on (wait a minute, then try again) or because the TV is in Smart Hub mode. If you are accessing through Smart Hub mode, try going in after viewing a channel from its own tuner.
  2. Enable Auto update to ensure that you are always getting the latest updates.
  3. To perform a manual check for an update, select Update Now.
