5. Update Firmware

  1. Ensure that you have paired your speakers to your mobile device.
  2. Open the JBL Connect app from your home screen.
  3. Once your speaker is detected you will be notified of any available updates.

  1. Plug your speaker into power and then tap OK to start the update.

6. Basic Functions

This button will enable/disable Bluetooth.

  • Connect an audio cable on any device with 3.5mm Headphone Jack
  • Plug power adapter into the wall to charge your speaker.
  • Charge your phone/tablet using the built in power bank by plugging your USB charger cable into the Charge 3.

7. Charge

First, make sure your speaker is adequately charged before powering on.

  1. Lift the rubber flap to expose the audio, charging, and USB ports of your speaker.
  2. Always remember to firmly replace the rubber flap on your Charge 3 when the ports beneath are not in use. This flap is part of what allows your Charge 3 to achieve its IPX7 water resistance rating.

  1. Connect the included plug into the charging port of your speaker.
  2. Depending on the method being used to charge your speaker, charging times will vary. Charging your speaker to full takes approximately 4.5 hours.

8. Link Speakers

  1. Start by linking your speakers to each other. This can be done by pressing the JBL Link button on each speaker.

  1. Pair one of the speakers to your mobile device.
  2. Open the JBL Connect app from your home screen.
  3. Once your speakers are discovered you will be given the option to set your speakers in either stereo or party mode.

  • Stereo Mode will play music in stereo using a speaker for left channel and a speaker for right channel.
  • Party Mode will play both channels on all speakers connected.
