How to Use a Sony XB30 Wireless Speaker

1. Introduction

The Sony XB30 is a Bluetooth speaker that sports a 24 hour battery life, and lighting that plays along with the music. It can be linked with up to 10 other compatible Sony speakers

This guide will help you with basic functionality of this device

2. Power On/Off

To power the unit on/off press the Power button. The Bluetooth indicator will blink when powered on.

Auto Power Off will occur in 15 minutes if there is no activity.

3. Charge

To charge your speaker, plug the AC adapter into your speaker and the other end into an available wall outlet.

  • The CHARGE light will be amber while charging.
  • When charging is complete the CHARGE light will turn off.
  • The CHARGE light will slowly flash when the battery is low.
  • To check approximate battery life, press and hold the Call button for at least 3 seconds. The speaker will announce a current battery life estimate.

5. Link Speakers

Multiple Sony XB30 speakers can be linked together for Stereo or "Double mode."

  1. Power on both speakers you wish to link.
  2. Press and hold the Add button for 3 seconds on the first speaker until you hear a beep.

6. Phone Calls

Making phone calls

  1. Make sure your mobile device is paired.
  2. Initiate a phone call from your mobile device.
  3. Press the Call button to end the call.

Receiving phone calls

  1. Make sure your mobile device is paired.
  2. When a phone call is received, press the Call button to answer the phone call and then speak into the speaker.

7. Audio Playback Introduction

The Sony XB30 supports playback via Bluetooth and via an audio cable with a stereo mini plug (not included). The following steps will walk you though playback of audio to your device.

8. Stereo Mini Plug

  1. Plug in a stereo mini plug into your source device and your wireless speaker.

Make sure both the source device and speaker are set to a moderate volume for the best listening experience.

9. Audio Playback

From any app that plays audio, you can now open and stream music to your speaker.

10. Extra Bass

You can enable or disable the extra bass feature by pressing the Extra Bass button on the speaker.

11. Introduction

Bluetooth technology allows you to stream audio from your computer or mobile device to your Bluetooth capable audio device. It has a range of approximately 30 feet. Your streaming device and Bluetooth audio device need to be paired with one another successfully before streaming can take place.

12. Audio Playback
