How to Use an Apple HomeKit with an ecobee Switch+

1. Introduction

You'll Learn:
How to use Apple HomeKit to control your ecobee Switch+.
You'll Need:
Your ecobee Switch+ to be already installed on your wall and set up within the ecobee app.
Your ecobee Switch+ to be already linked with Apple HomeKit via your Apple mobile device.
2. Setup Check
In order to continue, your Ecobee Switch+ must be installed and functioning properly with the Ecobee app.
3. ecobee Switch+ Setup Check
In order to control your ecobee Switch+ using Siri, you will need to link your ecobee Switch+ with Apple HomeKit.
4. Use HomeKit
Launch the Home app on your mobile device.
Locate your ecobee Switch+ on the Home or Rooms tabs.
You will see multiple tiles for the switch, for each of its features:
Shows whether the light controlled by the switch is turned on or off (1). You can also turn the light on or off using this tile.
Shows whether someone is occupying the room or not (2).
Shows whether someone is moving about the room or not (3).
Shows the room tempereture (4).
Using Switch+ Features With HomeKit Automation
You can also include ecobee Switch+ features within HomeKit Automation, such as lights being turned on or off automatically when a specific event occurs, or having another smart home device perform a task when the switch's sensors change states.
Tap the Automation tab at the bottom of the app.
Tap the plus sign in the top right to start creating a new automation.
Select the type of automation you'd like to create.
The automation configuration options depend on the type of automation you select. Set them the way you prefer and tap Next through each screen you get.
Tap Done to finish.
Once finished the automation rule will start waiting for the set event to perform the selected task.
5. Link ecobee Switch+
Launch the Home app on your mobile device.
Tap Add (+) in the top right corner.
Select Add Accessory.
Use the camera to scan the HomeKit code on the back of the switch installation manual or on the back of the switch wall plate.
Tap the name of the scanned device: ecobee Switch+.
Set the device options the way you prefer.
Then tap Next to continue and repeat the same process for each screen you get.
Tap Done to finish.
Once finished you can manage the device using the Home app or giving voice commands to Siri.
