Before We Begin:
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat unit must already be installed, registered, and fully operational.
2. Pair Your ecobee Room Sensor with Your ecobee Thermostat

10. Enable Smart Home/Away
Smart Home/Away uses ecobee room sensors to determine whether you're home or not.
Wake up your ecobee Smart Thermostat, then tap Menu.
Tap Sensors.
Tap SmartHome/Away.
Tap Enable to turn on Smart Home/Away.
Your ecobee Thermostat is always selected in Smart Home/Away unless you select disable.
11. Configure Participation Settings
Wake up your ecobee Smart Thermostat, then tap Menu.
Tap Sensors.
Tap the Arrow next to your ecobee Sensor name.
Tap the Participation arrow to expand it.
Select which Comfort Setting you want your sensor to participate in.
12. Comfort Settings
What Are Comfort Settings?Comfort Settings make sure your home is the right temperature during specific activities in your schedule.
A predefined heat/cool setting that can be applied to a specific period of a day, you can define comfort settings to represent activities (such as Sleep, Home, Away, Gym) or events (such as Party or Play Date).
For example, when you’re home, your ecobee thermostat can turn the heating on if the temperature falls below 70F and turn the cooling on if the temperature rises above 78F. Or when you’re away, only turn heating on if the temperature falls below 62F and turn cooling on if the temperature rises above 85F.
How to Access & Adjust Comfort Settings
Wake up your ecobee Smart Thermostat, then tap Menu.
Tap ComfortSettings.
Select the Comfort Setting you wish to customize.
Tap the temperature controls to open them.
Adjust to the desired temperature, then tap Save.
After tapping save you'll be brought to the schedule to adjust when this setting is active.
