How to Use Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones

1. Introduction

This guide will take you through the basic use of your Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones.

2. Charge

  1. Plug the micro-USB into your headphones.

4. Power

  1. Press the Power button on your headphones.

  1. Your headphones will automatically connect to the last Bluetooth device it was connected to when you turn it on.
  2. Use the same button, holding for 5 seconds, to turn off your headphones.

5. Range Check

The device needs to be within a reasonable range in order to connect.

  • In general, to pair and use a Bluetooth device (like a speaker, headset or smartwatch), the device needs to be within 10 feet of your computer or other device.
  • Some medium and higher-power devices can be farther, up to about 30 feet, but this tends to be for larger devices that plug in or have very large batteries, such as another computer, media streaming device, or a plug-in speaker system.

Try moving the Bluetooth device closer if you have trouble.

6. Pair with iOS

  1. Bring your Beats headphones close to your iOS or macOS device.
  2. Press the Power button on your headphones.

  1. Your device will pop up a connect prompt. Select Connect.

7. Pair with Android

  1. Bring your Beats headphones close to your Android device.
  2. Press the Power button on your headphones.

  1. Swipe down on your device.
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth icon.

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on and select the headphones.

8. RemoteTalk Controls

RemoteTalk has your controls, as well as the microphone for your headset.

Volume Up

Increase the volume

Multi-function button

  • Will play or pause when listening to music
  • Will pick up an incoming call, or hang it up
  • Will activate voice features on your smartphone when nothing is playing

Volume Down

Decrease the volume

9. Update Firmware

  1. Connect your headphones to your computer using the charging cable.

  1. On your computer, go to http://your.beatsbydre.com/.
  2. Expand the headband and look at the slider above the right earcup.

  1. Enter the serial number of your headphones, then select Verify My Serial Number.

  1. Follow the instructions on screen to download and run the Beats updater.
